Strong Coupling Phenomena on the Noncommutative Plane

چکیده

We study strong coupling phenomena in U(1) gauge theory on the noncommutative plane. To do so, we make use of a T-dual description in terms of an N → ∞ limit of U(N) gauge theory on a commutative torus. The magnetic flux on this torus is taken to be m = N − 1, while the area scales like 1/N , keeping ΛQCD fixed. With a few assumptions, we argue that the speed of high frequency light in pure non-commutative QED is modified in the non-commutative directions by the factor 1 + ΛQCDθ , where θ is the non-commutative parameter. If charged flavours are included, there is an upper bound on the momentum of a photon propagating in the non-commutative directions, beyond which it is unstable against production of charged pairs. We also discuss a particular θ → ∞ limit of pure non-commutative QED which is T-dual to a more conventional N → ∞ limit with m/N fixed. In the non-commutative description, this limit gives rise to an exotic theory of open strings.

From Noncommutative Bosonization to S-Duality

We extend standard path–integral techniques of bosonization and duality to the setting of noncommutative geometry. We start by constructing the bosonization prescription for a free Dirac fermion living in the noncommutative plane Rθ. We show that in this abelian situation the fermion theory is dual to a noncommutative Wess–Zumino–Witten model. The non–abelian situation is also constructed along...

Singlet scalar dark matter in noncommutative space

In this paper, we examine the singlet scalar dark matter annihilation to becoming the Standard Model particles in the non-commutative space. In the recent decades, many candidates of dark matter have been offered,  but our information about  the nature of dark matter is still limited. There are such particle candidates as  scalar matetr, fermion, boson, gauge boson, etc.; however, they have nei...

Noncommutative Electrodynamics and Ultra High Energy Gamma Rays

Plane waves in noncommutative classical electrodynamics (NCED) have a peculiar dispersion relation. We investigate the kinematical conditions on this deformed ”mass shell” which come from ultra high energy gamma rays and discuss noncommutative dynamical effects on the gamma absorption by the infrared background and on the intrinsic spectrum. Finally we note that in NCED there is a strong correl...

Noncommutative Quantum Hall Effect and Aharonov-Bohm Effect

We study a system of electrons moving on a noncommutative plane in the presence of an external magnetic field which is perpendicular to this plane. For generality we assume that the coordinates and the momenta are both noncommutative. We make a transformation from the noncommutative coordinates to a set of commuting coordinates and then we write the Hamiltonian for this system. The energy spect...

Noncommutativity in Maxwell-chern-simons-matter Theory Simulates Pauli Magnetic Coupling

We study interactions between like charges in the noncommutative Maxwell-Chern-Simons electrodynamics minimally coupled to spinors or scalars. We demonstrate that the non-relativistic potential profiles, for only spatial noncommutativity, are nearly identical to the ones generated by a non-minimal Pauli magnetic coupling, originally introduced by Stern [12]. Although the Pauli term has crucial ...
